About Us
Sharon

Sharon Heimbecker · President
When it comes to design, Sharon is a technological wizard, wielding her mouse like Excalibur! Her eye for color is exceptional. She may be the oldest of the UDG crew but you would never know it with all the toys that she has on her desk.

Sharon is the president, designer and money person at UDG. She started doing illustration & design as a student at Clark High School then went on to earn a degree from the Art Institute of Houston. Sharon has tons of experience (for someone so young) in everything from agency work to photography, printing to art direction.

Sharon has two grown children attending college and two cats that patrol the grounds out on her land in the hill country. She loves to travel and sneeks off to Germany (or the Fatherland, as she calls it) every chance she gets.

Jennifer

Jennifer Dennis · Vice President & Senior Graphic Designer
Like most women, chocolate tops the list of Jennifer’s likes. Just don’t bring her dark chocolate — yuck! And yes, she does know it’s better for her.

Jennifer is a San Antonio native and graduate of MacArthur High School (go Brahmas!) and the Art Institute of Houston with over 20 years of design experience. Besides being a partner, her main focus at UDG is on “The Wedding Guide,” a quarterly, 300–400 page publication for which her responsibilities are project workflow, layout, and ad design. Jennifer now knows so much about weddings, she’ll be ready when the day comes for her daughter to marry. As long as that day is at least a decade away.

Jennifer’s favorite people are her two teens and husband of almost 18 years. When she’s not running the kids to soccer games, art shows or band concerts, she loves just hanging out at home with them and their two dogs, Sniffle and Rascal. But like most working moms, she likes to be taken out to dinner and a good movie once in a while.

Aleshia

Aleshia Mayo · Vice President & Senior Graphic Designer
First, let’s get one thing out of the way—Aleshia’s never met Dorothy and never had a propensity toward sparkly red shoes. However, Aleshia did manage to walk away from Kansas State with both a BFA in graphic design and tornado survival skills. Take a look at her desk and you’ll understand how this could be considered a double major. While work-related tornados seem to be swirling around her, her work space and her attitude remain calm, organized and extremely neat.

With nine years of design experience under her belt, Aleshia is now an official partner/senior designer at UDG and an unofficial office interior designer. It’s rumored she played a major role in the décor and color scheme of the swanky new UDG offices. Can HGTV be far behind?

Aleshia’s married to her high school sweetheart and loves being a mom to her two sons! Besides running constantly after them, she lists vacuuming and mowing as two of her hobbies.

Jacqi

Jacqi Vargas · Designer & Developer
You’ve seen her. And heard her. Driving down the road with the music blasting. Don’t worry. This technique takes Jacqi to her happy place. It’s a place where her pet peeve—bad drivers—can’t enter. And in this case, loud music is a much better alternative than her other favorite hobby—video games.

Jacqi’s been pursuing her love of the web and design since she got an internship in the field at the age 15. She has a BA degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in Computer Graphic Arts. At UDG Jacqi puts these skills to work in the areas of web development, graphic design and production.

Jacqi is married to her college sweetheart, who is also a designer. She loves her cat ‘Sushi’ and hopes to fall down the rabbit hole and end up in Italy some day.

Janet

Janet Sandbach · Account & Marketing Director
Artistic talent shouldn’t be a job requirement for all employees, but at UDG, it doesn’t hurt. Long before Janet was hired as UDG’s account and marketing guru, she created the fabulous mural on the office wall! If that’s what a marketing person can create, just imagine how talented UDG’s graphic designers are.

Janet has more than 15 years’ experience in all aspects of publishing, printing and design. She knows how to translate customers’ needs into winning marketing strategies. Janet’s creative flair and solid customer service make an ideal combination.

At last count, Janet's home inventory included one husband, one child, one dog, two cats and a hermit crab. Of all her pets, Janet does have a favorite ... and its name is Roomba®.
